BA's Walsh and unions on rack

BRITISH AIRWAYS chief Willie Walsh today declared his patience with the cabin crew dispute had been "exhausted" as he addressed shareholders at a bad-tempered annual general meeting.

Walsh was speaking in the huge QEII Centre auditorium in Westminster, while outside, union members urged shareholders to call on management for an end to its "fixation with conflict".

Shareholders responded that both sides were damaging the brand.

One clip on hair extensions investor, David Millar, said: "The union is jumping up and down and saying they are being bullied, which has put them in as big a box as Willie Walsh. As a shareholder, I'm not happy with either party."

"I have little sympathy with the union, there are lots of people who don't have jobs at the moment and this is a well-paid job."
